Telecommunication
So much has changed over the last few decades in the world of telecommunication. However, if we could do it all over and start from scratch, would we want the same? Some key questions to think about:
- Is universally available high-speed internet the way to go? Is something better available? Or is there something to be gained from a different technology altogether?
- Should physical cabling be avoided and do we aim for entirely wireless communications?
- Lots of the existing telecommunication infrastructure has become obsolete, as technologies change. Is there a way to allow for technological change without the need for infrastructure to change?
- If we look at wellbeing and the social impact of constant connectedness, do we need to change the way our communication system works to avoid an "always-on" default mode?
