Are cities and nature compatible? Can humans thrive in an urban setting, while nature is being restored, rather than destroyed, through human activities? For centuries, if not millennia, we have been unable to reconcile the two. However, given the environmental impact and global importance of cities, this must change - and urgently.

The Untraceable City Project aims to investigate, through collaboration and involvement from a diverse group of partners and people, the feasibility of ecologically restorative cities.

We take a phased approach, which starts with gathering and discussing knowledge and ideas. This takes place in three steps:

1. Collect ideas

We start the discussion by collecting as many ideas as we can around technologies, philosophies, approaches, and adaptations that could be of interest.
Current phase

2. Review ideas

All ideas are discussed and reviewed, and the most promising ones are subjected to intense debate, with the aim to select the most promising ideas.

3. Integrate ideas

The selected ideas are all put together to see if and how they could fit together. This undoubtedly requires additional debate and adjustment.
